I will be listing various tips and suggestions on this page...general thoughts to keep in mind as you interact with others. If you have a recommendation or idea, please send it to me...I will include your suggestions as I am able. Thank you!
All Right, I'm Here ... Let's Get Started! It can happen to the best of us -- we arrive late for a meeting. It may be traffic, road construction, a last minute telephone call, poor planning on our part, whatever. Frankly, it doesn't matter, because no one wants to hear your excuse. However, how you handle things upon your arrival does matter.- If you are meeting someone one-on-one, offer a brief apology and move right along. Don't prolong the moment or drone on with a story; get in and get on with business.
- If it is a small group meeting, slip quietly into your seat and listen to the conversation to allow yourself to catch up. Don't ask the group to recap the conversation for your benefit. If necessary, follow up with another member afterwards to see what you missed.
- If it is a large group meeting, again, quietly take your place. Do not stop and greet people or shake hands with others in the room on your way; your tardiness should not cause the group an interruption.
